Vacation, Pt. 1

We're in Delaware, visiting Ron's family and enjoying the sights. Summer took her first airplane flight, which went pretty well. Just a couple of moments where screaming and crying seemed like the thing to do. We watched a little Teletubbies on the laptop and ate some snack. Now we're here.

Summer rides her first SuperShuttle.

On the Metro headed to the Smithsonian, Summer chats with her cousin Sofia.

Summer Wren checks out the wrens on display at the Natural History Museum.

"I'll stroll these halls myself, thank you very much. Which way am I going?"

Julia checks out a mastadon, or moosetadon, or something. We forgot to take notes.

Harris Family Jam 3: The Kimya Dawson Calamity

This could possibly be the World's Worst Cover Song, considering we just freelanced 98.3 percent of it and then just quit.

Harris Family Jam 2: Smiths

We went for it. Smiths. It's been awhile. Julia sounded good. Summer sounded good on backup vocals. Dad was a little twangy. It'll work.

Harris Family Jam 1: Teletubbies Cover

Daddy on the guitar, Mommy on the djembe, and Summer handling the freelance vocals.

Spring Sunshine Remembered

Burrrrrrrrrr. We are cold here in the Bay Area on this blustery, rainy Earth Day. Ahhhh, it seems like only yesterday we were basking in the incredibly warm Spring weather, letting the kiddos splash in the fountain outside of La Fiesta in their short sleeves. Oh wait. That was yesterday (Well, last week anyway.)

Soon Mother Nature will decide to give us back the warmth. In the meantime, you can look at this lovely picture and reminise.

Tahoe

We took a trip to Lake Tahoe with Summer to meet up with Julia's cousin Chloe and her friend Kara to hit the slopes. It was great. Summer got her first dose of snow (just on her hand, and she seemed disinterested according to mom). On Sunday, I took Summer to the lake and lunch and shopping. What a great day we had.
