Atlanta Botanical Garden

Julia's mother has left (she was visiting), and we miss her already. But we had a great time while she was here. One of the highlights was a trip to the Atlanta Botanical Garden with our new friends and neighbors from down the street, Amy, Avery and Pat. (Avery and Summer are growing to be best friends.) There were lots of plants, flowers, frogs and Halloween exhibits throughout the grounds.

I've decided I don't post enough photos of myself. I know, Summer's cuter, but I owe it to my Mom so she knows I'm alive every now and then. So, here I am, sorta.

Stone Mountain family trip

We took an afternoon drive to Stone Mountain yesterday, a combination recreational area, natural wonder and quasi-amusement park. It's really pretty there. I think we'll go back for a hike and picnic next week with (Julia's) Mom.

The Great 2008 Georgia Emissions Test Debacle

Ron got under the hood and brought the Jeep up to Georgia emissions code, but in doing so he reset the onboard computer (evidently disconnecting your battery will do that). So before he could get the passing grade, Ron had to drive 50 miles to bring the computer back up to snuff and pass the test. He loaded up his road buddy, Buster, drove up the street and took a 25-mile left through Decatur, Tucker and Snellville. Here's the scenery, BBQ stop included.

Summer's First Date

Summer went on her first date with Neil, the boy next door. He's adorable, plus he has a car and he can drive. And he's only 4! Kids these days.

Julia's Garden

Julia is having a great time in her new garden. Ron rototilled for 4 hours on Saturday to prep the ground. Now we've transplanted some new chard, thyme, rosemary, sage and pansies (which are edible). More to come.
