It was dress up for Halloween day at school for Summer. She went as a bumblebee. Mommy made the costume and the wings, and it looked awesome. They had a little indoor parade at the school which was a lot of fun.

Thanks for all of your votes on the new-ball-for-Buster poll. He's now the proud owner of a baby blue Adidas soccer ball. He's already started making teeth marks on it. -Ron
The garden is coming along nicely. Mom helped out a lot with some new rows of planting during her visit. It's getting cold now, so things are probably growing a little slower. But we had some swiss chard for dinner recently and it was tasty.
On Saturday evening Summer and I went to see Summer's music teacher, Danielle Sansone play a show at Eddie's Attic in downtown Decatur. Ron had to work ): Danielle just released her first children's lullaby CD. It's cool and enjoyable for grown-ups too. She is so phenomenally good that the show sold out, so we ended up watching Danielle on the big screen tv outside on the patio. I'm so glad Summer has had the opportunity to have her as a teacher because I definately think she is on her way to bigger things. Take a listen here.Tracks 4, 7 and 10 are our favorites.
Our friend Amy invited us to her lovely family's really cool cabin in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Northern Georgia for some Pumpkin Patch fun. Summer enjoyed a train and pony ride at the patch. We had a nice walk in the fall colored woods where we saw a wild turkey and took a ride down to the creek with Avery and their good family friends that have a cabin next door. Our goal at the creek was to feed cheerios to the trout. No trout. The kids ate the cheerios instead. :) But we did watch the dogs swim which was fun. -Julia
Julia's mother has left (she was visiting), and we miss her already. But we had a great time while she was here. One of the highlights was a trip to the Atlanta Botanical Garden with our new friends and neighbors from down the street, Amy, Avery and Pat. (Avery and Summer are growing to be best friends.) There were lots of plants, flowers, frogs and Halloween exhibits throughout the grounds.
Ron made a little slideshow of the trip. You can thank the late Andres Segovia for the music. Click here for the slideshow.
I've decided I don't post enough photos of myself. I know, Summer's cuter, but I owe it to my Mom so she knows I'm alive every now and then. So, here I am, sorta.
We took an afternoon drive to Stone Mountain yesterday, a combination recreational area, natural wonder and quasi-amusement park. It's really pretty there. I think we'll go back for a hike and picnic next week with (Julia's) Mom.

Ron got under the hood and brought the Jeep up to Georgia emissions code, but in doing so he reset the onboard computer (evidently disconnecting your battery will do that). So before he could get the passing grade, Ron had to drive 50 miles to bring the computer back up to snuff and pass the test. He loaded up his road buddy, Buster, drove up the street and took a 25-mile left through Decatur, Tucker and Snellville. Here's the scenery, BBQ stop included.
