A Break In the Rain

Finally the storm has ended, at least temporarily. Not only the rainstorm but the illness storm. Seems like we all spent the month of January being sick. Except for Buster.

With our newfound wellness, Summer and I explored the outdoors. She enjoyed watching the raindrops from the roof and listening to the bird sounds. We both soaked up the sun! -Julia

Summer feeds Buster, self

Glad to be home

I (Ron) am sick. Came down with a bad head cold after a week at UC Berkeley and a day on the ocean covering the Mavericks big wave surf contest. I'm on the mend now. Here's some video I took at Mavericks. Cheers.

Macworld

Macworld was interesting. Gadgets, gadget-lovers and a smattering of news. Here's my take:

dad pics. day three

Much healthier day today with a splash of grumpy. Her tummy probably still hurts a little. Summer played with her new, fun piggy bank toy that's from Aunt Michele, Uncle Eric and Sofia. She figured out pretty quick that you stick the coins in the slot and it makes a nice, rewarding clanking sound. We're teaching her to save money now since there won't be any social security left when she retires! Juuust kidding...

dad pics. day two

Ok so the digital camera is still in the car so another cell phone picture it is. This picture pretty much sums up our day. Summer is sick. She has the "big D" and a fever. Hopefully tomorrow she will be better and the pics will feature a little more actiivty. Although for a sick girl she has still managed to get some play in. For example, she has pushed the button on her play cell phone over and over that has a recording of Ron saying "Hi Summer. This is daddy. I love you." It has become her mantra. We miss you honey.

pics for dad. day one.

Ron is at a Multimedia Fellowship at UC Berkeley this week. He asked me to post a picture each day so here you go, hon'. Sorry this first one's not so clear. It's the best I can do today since I can't find our digital camera. This is taken with my cell phone. It's a picture of Buster with his head in Summer's lap. It's a motion shot, which is usually the case when Buster and Summer are involved.
After this shot was taken Summer tried putting her head on Buster's neck to cuddle with him. Poor girl. She has been very cuddly today because she has a fever. When I found her laying down with her head on her Teddy instead of running around like a crazy woman, I new something was not quite right with her. Well it actually started when she wouldn't eat which is usually a sign that she is not feeling well.

Gratitude

This is my favorite photo taken from the day of my birthday. It is a picture of my niece Anne with Summer at the beach. It reminds me of how thankful I am to be present in this life. I have a wonderful husband who always takes care of us and makes sure we are safe when he is not with us. He gets us 'all set up' before he leaves for an extended period of time. I have a close family who take care of each other. I have a daughter who teaches me new things about the world and lets me be a mother, I have a dog that gives me the best hugs...yes hugs and I was born and raised in the natural beauty of the Bay Area and am able to spend part of my birthday at the beach. Thank You for the many blessing in my life. Much Gratitude!! -Julia
