And More Milestones...

As you can see from the last post we graduated Summer to the Keilty Backpack carrier. It's much easier on the back. She growing much meatier.

At her last 6 mos. apointment Summer was 15 1/2 lbs and 26 1/2 inches. In babyland that's a little below average weight, yet tall. Dr. Lepler said she's doing great! He also noticed her top teeth were on there way.

Sure enough a week later the top teeth are making an appearance. She's not too thrilled about this. The second time around is no fun and it makes eating even more challenging!

Although, Daddy seems to have the magic touch when it comes to eating. She wouldn't touch the applesauce for me but when dad does it somehow it tastes better. In other words, Ron has a new job- "baby feeder."

She may not be the biggest eater yet, but she sure loves to talk. Her ahhhhs and uhhhhs have turned into more recognizable sounds like ba-ba-ba-ba and ah-ba and ma-ma-ma. It's especially enjoyable to be seranaded at 6:15 in the morning to ba-ba-ba-ba. Who needs a rooster!

Hike With Mike

This might be the last hike with Unk for a little while since he's going back to work. We went to Huddard County Park today in Woodside. At first we thought it was a dud hike but the road back was through a beautiful redwood grove with a stream, lush ferns and wild flowers. Summer took one of her usual naps in the pack. She is getting way too heavy for that thing! I felt the burn carrying her sleeping body up the hill. I think we'll be graduating her to the Keilty Backpack next week. Anyway, here are some great pics that my brother took.

More Mile Stones

Summer has had a lot of new milestones. She is sitting up. Her record is a minute and a half! She loves this new perspective and has shown a new interest in certain toys, like the rolling ball on her mirror.

sitting up...

...and falling down

On Mother's Day she sat in a high chair for the first time. She liked it!

And my personal favorite, we finally found a food she likes. Bananas!! You can just throw that rice cereal right out the window. Remember that funny face she made the first time she tried the cereal? Well she's been making it ever since. Not a fan! Today we tried bananas and she eagerly opened her mouth with each bite. And here's what's left of the banana:

First Mother's Day

Moms make for good photos. Yet another reason to love them and give them a day all their own.

It's a Baby Party

Last week we went to a Tres de Mayo Party. Can you find Summer? (Hint: She's the one with the big smile on her face.) She is pictured here with all her girlfriends. Yes, no boys, just girls. The boys all cancelled. Too much for the boys to handle!

From left: Luna, Rose, Ava, Madeline, Summer, Emily and Larkin. Age range- 4 1/2 mos. to 9 mos. Thanks to Brenda (Rose's mom) for the picture and the great party!!

Return to Pecchetti

Mike and I returned to the seen of the 'evil doer.' Here is the evil doers cousin, also very aggressive. Let's call him Bubba...

We could not get a picture of the mean peacock because he confronted us and we had to run for our lives. I'm not kidding! Ask Uncle Mike. Arn't birds suppose to avoid people? Not this guy. He jumped right in front of us when we were trying to leave and practically followed us to the car. I'd hate to run into that bully bird in a dark alley.

Anyway, We had a very nice hike regardless of the mayhem. It was hot, but we ended with a shady picnic lunch. As you can see, Summer got a nice nap out of the deal! Thanks again to my brother for these great pictures.

Way Home!!

Swimming!

Summer had her first swim today, May 6, 2007. She did very good. No crying, probably because she had no idea what was going on. The weather was great, so we just had to take a dip.

Summer's Food

Summer was ready for her second day of eatting. Here are the photos to prove it!

Awesome Spring Hike

Summer and I took an a great hike with Uncle Mike near the mysterious Mt. Uminum in the Sierra Azul Open Space area. Leave it to Uncle Mike to find a really cool place to hike that we had never been. It was full of wild flowers, butterflies and thankfully no peacocks!! photo by Uncle Mike
