Finger Foods

Summer's got skills! She's got that pincher grasp down! And she's getting the hang of chewing with her four teeth. She has her own technique of crunching the cheerios and squishing them in her gums.

Yesterday we decided to graduate her to some other foods. I started with bananas. She squished them in her fingers for a while, examining them closely. Then a minute later she put them in her mouth. She smiled with delight!

At lunch we tried peas and rice. I guess she likes this new way of eating because when I gave her pureed peas in the past, she made a face of disgust and spit em out. I don't think I'd like the taste of pureed peas myself. Must be a texture thing!

Today she wants to taste everything we are eating. ("No, Summer you can't have bbq potato chips!") The time has come to be more mindful about our food choices.

Later we will try cantelope!

mmm.. peas...

Nothing like introducing food to your baby to make you realize how much your own eating habits can improve.

How's the unpacking going?
